On Joseph's last "special day" Cort was in Dallas on business. During lunch, he wanted to use my blackberry to send an email to Cort. This exchange followed:
Joe: I hope you have a great time in dallas
Cort: Thanks Joe!!! Hope you are having a great special day with mommy. I love you very very much.
It's a simple email exchange, but I love it. He's five, and he can communicate by email - a medium I did not use until I had graduated from law school. And he can initiate a grammatically correct, adult-quality email "conversation" -- without even a spelling error (OK, so he didn't capitalize Dallas, but still). In fact, comparing the two, Cort's response seems more "child-speak" than Joe's statement. He's just growing up, and although I'm going to miss it when he's not little anymore, seeing him grow up still makes my Monday.
