As a reward for good behavior (greens) at school, Joseph got to plan our menu for a whole week. Here's what he has selected, beginning with Thursday of this week:
Thursday breakfast: Biscuits and sausage
Thursday dinner: Lasagna, sweet potatoes, and stewed okra with onions
Friday breakfast: quiche
Friday dinner: spaghetti with meat sauce, edamame, and pomegranates
Saturday breakfast: donuts (this is a weekly staple)
Saturday lunch: pizza and peaches
Saturday dinner: baked chicken with pesto, black beans, and couscous
Sunday breakfast: pancakes (another weekly staple)
Sunday lunch: at the Texans game
Sunday dinner: penne pasta, steamed artichokes, and cauliflower au gratin
Monday breakfast: muffins and fruit
Monday dinner: chili with cheese, avocado, and raw carrots
Tuesday breakfast: breakfast burritos
Tuesday dinner: soccer pizza party (already scheduled)
Wednesday breakfast: toast and applesauce
Wednesday dinner: ravioli, twice baked cauliflower, and cucumbers and tomatoes in balsamic vinegar
Although the menu is a little heavier than usual on pasta, I think this is a pretty great selection for a 6-year-old!
